Charities – Children and Young People

Go to Resources & downloads where you can find links to the following charities and organisations who offer support, advice and information for children and young people:

1. Action for Children – Action for Children supports young people with homelessness, independent living, leaving care, employability & substance misuse issues.
2. NSPCC – the UK’s leading children’s charity who have been working to stop child abuse and neglect for over 140 years. They’re the only UK children’s charity with statutory powers, which means they can take action to safeguard children at risk of abuse.
3. Stop it now – a UK based charity which gives anonymous support and advice to anyone with concerns about child sexual abuse, whether this is your own or someone else’s behaviour. Their helpline is a safe space for callers to talk about their concerns and questions.
4. Youth Commission – a local charity which offers a range of services for children, young people and their families in the Bailiwick. All their services are free of charge but if you can’t find what you’re looking for, get in touch and with them directly and they will be happy to help. If you are a parent or carer, they can offer guidance on how best to support your child, as a toddler, as a teen, in the home, in school and offer support with bereavement or serious illness, please email referrals@youthcommission.gg so they can match a service area to your needs.
